I had the pleasure of observing Mr. and Mrs. Birky in action when they began the martial arts program at our school.  I was so intrigued and pleased to see the manner in which they focused on the issue of respect ... respect for one another and one’s self. Through dialogue and martial arts techniques, I think the message of respect, following directions, listening, focusing, working hard was delivered well to the students, and it was something they practiced while in the program. You would think with a large group of students, it could become difficult to keep attention and good behavior, but Mr. and Mrs. Birky were able to do so, and is something I think would be beneficial for any teacher to observe to obtain some ideas on classroom behavior management techniques.

Star Martial Arts is amazing. They include both family and school in the students' martial arts education. We started seeing improvement in just one week and are seeing a dramatic improvement in 3 weeks. Not to mention the fact that WE are learning how to discipline in a positive manner. signing our 10 year old up was the best decision we ever made.
